Meet the Doctors

Dr. Melissa Blanchard (Agnew)BF0A8929

Dr. Mel grew up in Onamia, Minnesota and was active in high school and college, participating in track and cross country. She majored in exercise science at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. While there, she was a three-time NCAA Division II National Champion and a 12-time All-American.

Seeking a health care profession that took a holistic approach, Dr. Mel discovered that chiropractic was a perfect fit. She attended Northwestern Health Sciences University where she learned about treating the cause of an injury or condition rather than masking symptoms as so many medications do.

During her internship, she saw firsthand the effects chiropractic care had on her patients and became excited to open her own practice. At Imperial Family Chiropractic, Dr. Mel often sees active individuals and athletes. She is certified in Graston and Rock Tape®.

When she’s not at the office, Dr. Mel stays busy with the Twin Cities Track Club. She runs on the weekends and enjoys checking out area restaurants and breweries.

Dr. Aaron BreningBF0A9016

Dr. Brening grew up in Coon Rapids, MN participating in multiple youth sports (primarily baseball) before moving to Farmington, MN for high school where he focused primarily on weight lifting. During his undergrad he was originally contracted with the Air Force to pursue physics, but a back injury of unknown injury required surgery and shifted his degree path to Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota. Following that he pursued a degree in chiropractic eventually becoming a 2020 graduate of Northwestern Health Sciences University.

His first exposure to chiropractic was in undergrad while working off medical bills where his surgical site started experiencing pain again. This experience was what inspired the later career change as he responded well to the adjustments and even more so with the coinciding physical rehabilitation he was shown. His personal experience and schooling has led to an emphasis of treatment to not only correct joint dysfunction, but to give you the tools you need to teach the muscles how to stabilize the region(s) and keep you moving healthily longer.

The first clinic he practiced in was considered a high volume clinic in Grand Forks, ND where he saw over 500 patients every month with exposure to a variety of age and activity ranges due to the local college, commerce, and the hub nature of the city for surrounding farms and smaller towns. Through this experience and his personal life, he has learned that all ages and activities levels experience stress that can benefit from chiropractic care and he strives to do unto others that has been done for him.

When not in clinic, Dr. Brening can be found in a weight room, zoning out on walks, consuming high-fantasy (DnD, Lord of the Rings, The Stormlight Archive) and Anime media, and enjoying though sometimes yelling at online gaming on his personally built PC.

Tammy

Tammy Belton, Massage Therapist

With an Associate’s Degree in Swedish Relaxation and Clinical Therapeutic Massage, I bring a holistic and intuitive approach to bodywork. I’m certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Prenatal Massage, Hand and Foot Reflexology, Reiki, Cancer Massage, and Client-Participation Stretching for Athletes. My work is rooted in both experience and empathy.

After living with chronic migraines for 15 years and finding limited relief through western medicine, I turned to massage as a way to heal. While it wasn’t always a cure, it offered something deeply needed—nurturing, compassionate touch. That experience guides my practice to this day.

Each session is customized based on your physical and emotional needs. Whether you’re managing pain, stress, or simply need a reset, I aim to create a safe, supportive space to help you reconnect with your body and feel your best.
